Hoy se hizo pública la ruptura entre Nike y Lance Armstrong, ruptura por la cual Nike ha emitido el comunicado que se encuentra al final del post. Tras este anuncio, el ex-ciclista tejano dejo la presidencia de LIVESTRONG, fundación de ayuda a los afectados por el cáncer, para no dañar su imagen. Nike ha defendido que seguirá apoyando a la fundación pero nada se sabe si seguirán produciendo aquellas colaboraciones en ropa deportiva a las que ya nos tenía acostumbrados.
Comunicado de Nike:
Due to the seemingly insurmountable evidence that Lance Armstrong participated in doping and misled Nike for more than a decade, it is with great sadness that we have terminated our contract with him. Nike does not condone the use of illegal performance enhancing drugs in any manner.
Nike plans to continue support of the Livestrong initiatives created to unite, inspire and empower people affected by cancer.
